Save Dinnington High Street
I am working with local residents and businesses to call for the Conservative government to think again and invest in Dinnington.
In January, the Conservative government rejected a bid for investment in Dinnington High Street. Despite promises to ‘level-up’ our country and economy, the Tories continue to overlook South Yorkshire and towns like Dinnington and Maltby. The high street in Dinnington is in desperate need of modernisation – to support local businesses and build the thriving local economy we deserve and need.
The government set up a ‘levelling-up fund’ for communities to apply for funding. Despite Dinnington’s clear need, our bid was rejected. Remarkably, the Conservatives have decided that London and the South-East should receive more funding than Yorkshire and the Humber. This reveals the Tories’ priorities. Indeed, in South Yorkshire, despite bids worth £35 million, we received nothing – not a single pound – from the Conservative’s levelling up fund.
I am working with local residents and businesses to call for the Conservative government to think again and invest in Dinnington. The fight continues. Please sign up to find out more about the campaign.
